Title says it all. Got the call to bring in my truck yesterday Sam acted like a dipshit about the whole thing and wouldn't even be straight up about what was going on until pressured. In his words, "It is more difficult on me than it is you". Cry me a river buddy.

I'm very comfused that the employee felt he/she should have been told ahead of time that they were being released. An employee generally has access to client emails and records and can seriously affect a company in a short period of time, if they know they're going to be released. It also minimizes the risk of planned retaliation, which is a safety concern for other employees at the plant. The fact that other offices were informing their employees ahead of time doesn't make it right. This is the same in any industry, whether oilfield, supermarket, or restaurant. An employee should never be told ahead of time...that's just how it is.
I was hired back this morning so I could be laid off again this afternoon. Sadistic f*ckers.

Guys, I just want to clarify that no one has been laid off at WTF or any other oilfield company for that matter. There haven't been any layoffs in many years in this industry. For those of you making false claims about having been layed off, please stop lying to everyone (the labor laws wouldn't even allow for that to happen).

OP, Anonymous100934 thanks for the luck I'll be fine have more than $300k saved up from my time here and one interview already lined up as I have been looking for a little bit now. Sam isn't a bad guy and I'd edit his name ou. Just needs to be straightforward with people and not act like he is the victim it doesn't make anything better. Never was a fan of the Spencer Rd office but never held anything against them though they always seemed exasperated by everything going on in the field. Other districts have been doing layoffs and they were told why they were coming in. Was talked to about this post at the office so just so you know they are heavily trying to affect information on here and my only intention was to let people know there had been people laid off frustration got the better of me in some of the stuff I said and none of this is personal. If one of my interviews pan out I'll be getting 90% of our pay before the 2 paycuts with better benefits so it could be a blessing in disguise good luck to everyone.
What would you prefer to call it - Canned? Fired? Terminated? There's only so many other choices.....

Not true previous poster - no hoax. There were a few layoffs today at Spencer Rd - with a few more coming via hearsay. It's amazing how people will do their best to hide the truth, when that's the only thing that'll set your asses free!

Yeah, heard that BS too. The last go around of GOOD HARD WORKERS at Huntsville that were walked out. Managers.. "I'm sorry I had no idea you were on the list, You don't understand how hard it is on us to have to do this". Whatever, then they turn around and talk shit about those same people theywalked out. Laughing about their great acting skills to other managers, leads. Makes me sick to be a part of this company!! This facility is doomed. I can't quit because I won't get a severance, so I have to sit and wait and deal with some of the most unprofessional people I have ever seen.
