Hi everyone- I'm a former employee. I resigned a year and a half ago after several years at EDMC locations. Like you, I believed that I was a part of a good school system. Later , I realized that althought we offered some very good programs, our cost was more than twice what it should have been. So..... I looked for another job and left when I got one. The grass is greener on the other side- atleast in my case. What I'm trying to say is look then leave - look now don't wait. At this point you are not serving students in a positive way .

Anonymous102016 sure they can. Many ARE looking elsewhere but haven't been fortunate yet. Maybe you didn't need the check or had another option. Many don't. There's nothing wrong wit venting. They earned the right to comment since they put in the time to find out for themselves, just like you.
No one is having a gun held to their head to say. I left a long time ago. Simply put, if you bank the check, don't gripe on this thread that they are a shit company. I got tired of their BS and left. I could no longer bank a check from them because I would then be the problem too. So, leave and work somewhere else...but if you cash their check...you don't have the right to piss and moan about them.
Hi everyone - I wrote the post that led to this thread ( not sure how to get my anonymous # to link up). I didn't mean to say that EDMC hasn't done a lot if terrible things to students and employees. I know that they have and yes, part of the reason I left was because I was just completely over it. What I meant to say is just simply get out and move on. I did and I'm so glad I'm not with EDMC now.
I agree, its about 5 years past the "cant we all get along" phase. EDMC burned the bridges and peed in the moat. They thought they would be safe in their castle only they forgot at some point food runs out and you realize you should not have ripped off the peasants who grow the food.
Positivity is a great thing, but there are FAR too many former/current employees who have been treated terribly. I would venture to say that some or most faculty/staff at the schools had the best intentions at heart (though not too many at HQ). The environment is too toxic to smile and try to work together. That time has passed years ago - it really is that bad. Everyone is scared, sh*t on regularly, in silos - it's like the Hunger Games. Who on earth wants to work or learn in that type of setting?
Agreed!
