Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

Hatuk Bakunda, a one time WFT high flyer was released last Friday from his position as new technology manager.

Seems that WFT is now giving up on new technology.

Sadly Hatuk was arrested by Police at Houston international airport and did not make it to Thailand. He attacked the manager of Starbucks store over some derogatory remarks about his Texan girlfriend and is now in the county jail. His girlfriend left him and is now working in starbucks. Go figure what happened here.

That post was a complete lie. I spent 30 minutes searching NatGeo and fossils do not have math skills. Do not believe anything that person says. Going to check Discovery to be sure...

Schlumberger better than Weatherford don't make me laugh criteria for employment at Schlumberger involves either being married to you're sister or mother having at least 3 fingers missing and the math skills of a fossil

Especially if he has contacts in embargoed countries where we can operate and make money

Yes , I think he would be good at Schlumberger, the weirdest you are, the better it is over there. They love diversity

Schlumberger would be a better choice given its a much better company than wft, people are better and we love diversity.

I wonder why they chose Weatherford for that experience?

So getting fired was part of this exotic experience? Hope he enjoyed it and now understands what the humiliation feels like although he will never have money worries

My wish would be to have an experience as an African prince inside one of his fathers oil companies LOL

Guys, I just got off the phone with Hatuk and he wanted me to tell you all not to worry about him. He is actually taking this opportunity to go on a much needed vacation (management work is much more challenging than most bottom feeders would ever understand). He is currently enjoying himself somewhere in Thailand and may stay there for a couple of years as it tends to suit his indulgent lifestyle. Please do not worry about the expenses of this vacation or for his livelyhood. Between the company bonuses, and his family's wealth+connections, he will not have anything to worry about. Actually, he never needed to work or have a full time job to begin with. The story behind that is that he lost a bet to a buddy of his from one of his secret societies and as a result of that, he had to conform to living a normal working person's life for a set period of time (albeit in management). After a while, he actually found it intriguing and maybe even exotic to have to go to work everyday. It was a memorable experience that he will not soon forget. Thanks for all of your concerns, but the circus is over. Back to reality.

With the connections this guy has he will end up in another well paid position somewhere and these high flyer types usually take their secretaries with them.

Not so easy for us field guys as we get hit the worst

Hakuk was a well respected guy his personnel secretary Mandy Mellons quit in disgust over the way he was treated.

in the 2nd quarter WFT has announced they still have to close down 6 more

manufacturing plants as well as shut down 50 more facility's in the next two months as well as layoff 2000 more employes so it is only the beginning of the demise of the us operations and all of this is going down in the next 2 weeks good luck all . smart guy

Wonder how much that cost Weatherford to get rid of him probably another 50 layoffs should cover it.

Hatuk was an African prince whose father owned a local oil company who happened to have some large contracts with American companies and perhaps that may explain the excessive some would say hedonic behavior around town.

Totally agree that these guys live a life of luxury in Houston with an all expenses paid assignment. It doesn't matter if the company is doing well or not.

I hope that weatherford fire some more of them

One year our CEO had a final salary of over $13 million his basic salary was around $1 million so I'm sure bonuses play a part in Top tier management or it could just be VIP freebies either way his life is so far away from us foot soldiers that me personally I could not give a shit if it saves a few good foot soldiers then fine by me doubt he will struggle financially? I seen a good friend let go he's struggling to keep his family going worked his ass off never late always worked any hours he was asked now a broken man my sympathy's are with him and the other foot soldiers not some champagne swilling socialite.

He frequented the most expensive restaurants and exclusive golf clubs in Houston and became a celebrated Houston socialite during his time here. Don't know how he managed that on a WFT salary.

I think they both went to Harvard university here in USA. Why would HR fire the brightest people in the company?
