I work at one of the last stores in Northern California. I can tell you right now at least this store is falling apart. We keep getting things in that no one is buying. The management has no idea what they are doing. They keep acting as if the store is going to get better and that the company is going to get better. The year before last the store had over $3 million in loss last year there was over $1.5 million. The store just completed inventory and the management is saying that everything is great but also hearing the opposite. Not that it would make a difference in keeping the stores open but if the store had better management at least it would be a better place to work. Over the past few months they have hired about 15-20 new people. They are cutting back everyone's hours because of all the new hires. Most of the people in the store are working at most 4 hours a day. and those are the lucky ones some are getting 10-12 hours a week.

I m guessing that they are setting up fora push this summer into the holidays and then some time next year its closing.

If anyone has any news on any other stores closing in northern california please post

They will all be closing soon. Lambert made all his money back in stock trades. His latest squeeze is selling the real estate over to an entity which he will, have a substantial ownership in. If the vendors don't shut the stores down, lamper the will push Sears into bankruptcy. The only people that should stay are those with pensions and see what the federal, government is going to do when Sears supposedly gets the 2.5 billion from the stores being sold. The pension needs 1.5 billion just to keep funded at 80%.They lose money every qtr and now have 400 million a year in rent. They will run out of cash by the end of the year. Believe the vendors, look at the inventory, see the delays for delivery, look at the insurance companies that guarantee vendors get paid....the belt keeps tightening. I went into one of their best stores and it was a ghost town and know for a fact it lost money last year. Who wants to go to Sears when you got superior goods and service from Amazon....appliances...go to lowes, Home Depot and even best buy. Tools all from China and you can get better warranty with cheaper prices at harbor freight
