Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

What lies will Chris H tell the news paper today? I guess we will read about it in the morning.

Finding a replacement job is harder than you would think. Basically we were well paid to "play the game". The BS is overwhelming!

Economic down turn? Uh, in case you haven't noticed its not 2007. They cut and paste so often they dont even stop to read their on BS. The economy has picked up, housing prices are going up they are even predicting another bubble. Unless of course these guys are Obama haters, in that case yes the no matter what the facts show, the US is going down the crapper.

Just horrible. I'd like to see him babble that same media statement directly to the 300 people who lost their jobs today (and now have to figure out new ways to literally put food on the table). Saying "less than 1%" is an absolute insult, trying to "save face" and "soften the blow" for the company. Try facing those 300 people in person, Mr. Hot Shot.

Its the same bullshit line. Does he still work there or is Ed West just doing a cut and paste from his desk top and sending it over to the Pittsburgh news outlets. What a joke!

“As part of our ongoing efforts to offer students a great learning experience while keeping education affordable, we have to maintain close alignment between our resources and market demand,” said EDMC spokesman Chris Hardman. “As such, we had to make the difficult decision to eliminate approximately 300 positions, which is less than 1 and a half percent of our total faculty and staff at EDMC locations and schools across the country. The reductions are mostly in staff and support functions, but also includes some faculty members.”

To better serve our students we have decided to eliminate all useful help the student would ever need at AUO. We feel that admissions and career services is all that students want and need to be successful in school. This decision was not made lightly by our amazing, disappearing Vice-Chancellor. We are here to pick up the pieces of students and staff shattered lives due to his lack of substantive leadership in higher education and his abundant willingness to look out for himself and friends before the student customer.

Aka "As the public became aware over the years of our scheme to sell crap education for high dollar, we slowly started turning to squeezing our employees like turnips until every ounce of them had been drained before we sell for pennies on the dollar and move everything to an Indian call center. Thank you for your money."

Due to the changing environment and low student enrolment in this economic down turn we need to make changes to our programs to better serve our students....blah, blah, blah bullshit.
