You will have to apply to Halliburton for and open position .. if there is one and if a Halliburton employee applies for that same position they have seniority. If they offer you (Baker) a position in another city\state they want you to decline so they can flat out right fire you and not have to pay you. if that happens you cannot collect any unemployment and you don't get a anything but a kick in the ass. Good luck Baker guys you will need it in the end. If you think the back stabbing is bad now at baker wait until the buy out happens and your job is at stake it will get really brutal

Your all wrong. Everyone's time will role over. Also for the cocky little pricks comment. I promise you this! There will be just as many blue as red if and when its final. It's not approved yet and it's not looking to good on the approval process also.

Years mean zero to big red. I had 40 years as a offshore cementer. They will lay you off and keep a 10 year hand. Its called good business practices. The only loyalty is in upper management.

Mr. Halliburton would roll over in his grave. With current upper management.

Baker will no longer exist. The company will be Halliburton and the rules will be Halliburton. But Baker employees will not have to worry about keeping their years of service, they will have to worry about keeping their jobs. Halliburton will eliminate the majority if not all of you.

Normally, employees do keep their years of service, it happened when BJ bought out Western and when BH bought out BJ. Now as to ranking, that may be a little different wherein, if you have a BH employee with the same number of service years as a Halliburton employee, the Halliburton employee may have seniority over the BH employee.

I would expect that employees for whom their employer changes due to the takeover WILL be able to keep their years of service. Certainly this is what has happened with employees from previous legacy companies that were bought over by Baker Hughes and in reality, I can't see this being any different with Halliburton.

No, whomever is left ,in the end, will have to reapply with Halliburton.
