There are always some layoffs at EDMC this time of year. Look at the historical data. Thank you for the heads up but it was really not a huge surprise that some jobs were cut. It was hardly the "blood bath" described by the anonymous post.

Once again, more spin from some EDMC "manager". The 300 number certainly doesn't include all the AUO people told to reapply next week for a handful of positions. As an outsider watching this, the only "hype" I read is from EDMC. Just as they have done with their "results" of student outcomes, their numbers are manipulated to make it look better. How dumb do they think the outside world really is? (Not as dumb as they are.)
That's funny, AI and EDMC took a dumb today, but just wait until the diuretics kick in. It's not going to be a blood bath, it's going to be diarrhea city.
Hu? Growing companies dont usually express result in blocks of layoffs at any scale. In theory, they are understaffed and willing to pay a premium for more talent. What history of EDMC points to this? EDMC has been circling the drain for years now. Sooner or later its going to smell so bad someone is going to hit the flush lever.
If you want to play the history card, EDMC has been on a loosing streak for almost a decade now. Layoffs every year. Excuse me if I am wrong here, but I though the point of being For-Profit was to make profit. Constant drip drip drip of layoffs and plummeting stock value is not exactly a recipe for success. 100 people at a time even in a big company is always a red flag. If you were so smart and efficient and doing your job, you would not have hired that many unnecessary people in the first place. So one can only conclude you are cutting into the bone at this point.
Not to mention all ACS and ARS that do not get hired into the new position they have to apply to, are laid off at AUO. that's not substantial? They have not said how many people they are going to keep
Also more people than just the center were laid off today. The original poster, whichever campus you are at, minimal impact Otherwise, there was. Be mindful that everyone that works here does not come to this site as well. Do you see the number of views from each post? That's with the same person viewing more than once, not even close to the number of people that work here.
I agree to disagree..at the center..its 300 employees..70 got let go..thats close to a 30% reduction...company wide not as bad at 1.5%
