Maybe look further north. There aren't enough jobs in Orange county. Broadcom will probably cut jobs after the acquisition.
There is a ton of jobs in Orange County, it's not worse than SD
Amen!
It is hard to move on ...San diego is beautiful .Who the hell wants to go?????
IT WILL ALWAYS BE A DOWNGRADE IF YOU LEAVE
time for the smart people to move on.
Now, who is still skeptical about the power and credibility of Thelayoff.com. Everything discussed here, nicely and now so nicely, are all over the web news now. Apparently QC is deeper crap than anyone can imagine. No chip company can hire continuously and expect everyone to contribute. It is irresponsible, because SD cannot absorb even a fraction of the people about to be let go. Start contacting your SV connections.
the total number will announced on wednesday....but the pink slips wont be given on Wed to everyone.....they will do incremently with few hundered every week... many will leave by choice .... so the company doesnt have pay severance.....
next 6 months will be painful for everyone who is employed in the company....
I heard the same thing - in my mind a prolonged layoff would cause a ton of issues. Since BCG is consulting on the layoffs, I highly doubt this will happen, they have a methodology and a quick and dirty 'hit them fast' approach is usually deployed. So, while I heard about this for a reliable source, I highly doubt it. Look, the info is well guarded and I am sure only a handful of folks know what will happen. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in the war-room.
This would be pretty stupid. You would have people totally unmotivated to work for 6months. If they are going to do it, get.it done and do it fast...so everyone can move on. Quickly.
