I think Chevron will provide a severance. there is no law which states that employers must provide severance pay to employees who are being laid off. Instead, severance is voluntary on the part of the employer. The employer can offer to pay severance or it can refuse to pay severance. In general, it is entirely up to the employer. Nevertheless, although that is the general rule, many employers have indeed made commitments to pay severance and those commitments often are enforceable in a court of law....I have heard managers say the board approved this for 2015 and if you are terminated in 2016 they can withhold the severance. That still will not hold up and the intention was for this ROM. I know of quite a few employees that Chevron has screwed with there 24 months or less we will move you back to Home.......they have now reneged on that promise. It would be smart for everyone in the same boat to be represented together. Believe me the outcome is much better and much faster.
ITC is much leaner today. I don't know of any more cuts targeting ITC. ETC, PRC and CBRES are about to be sliced and diced.
