Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

How to handle breaking the layoff news?

I found out my manager is being laid off and that I will be replacing him. How should I break the news to him tomorrow? Should I thank him?

Just happened the same in my team. The new boss started playing bossy, no one likes him. Just make sure you treat your peers the same way you treat them now. may be a little nicer. You can thank your boss after some time. These are difficult times.

dont get emotional....you are thrilled that you have your job and replacing your boss....dont get cocky...the layoffs will continue for the next many months so dont get cocky...you might be in the next line....be professional....

This is highly unusual but if this is indeed the case why do you have to break the news to him. Let his manager be the one.
