Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Why hasn't Chevron offered early retirement packages?

Why hasn't Chevron offered early retirement packages to those 58 and above? Instead, let's keep those who are making North of $175- $225k! Surely the industry learned from the 80's when they released all their potential next generation and lost the generation thereafter. Right?

Good Luck requesting it. They send you form after form, All the same forms mind you! But if you send in the wrong from that has expired, they will call you and tell you the form is expired. Its the same form, but the codes are different on the bottom. Then you talk to a representative and they read from a script to tell you they will send you another form. These people only know 1 job and can't think outside the box.

Well, what I read on ADVFN.com is the 3yr target for downstream is 5700 employees. 1900 last year/1500 with this round leaves 2300 more to go. Maybe their cutting low hanging non-performing fruit then will rollout the cream for the old timers next year. Sounds logical.
