Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

From Intel's Board Here - "At least they (Qualcomm) are humane about it."

From Intel's board here: "At least they (Qualcomm) are humane about it. They are telling the employees that their job "is no longer available." Sounds a lot better than saying you are being let go due to your poor performance when you have no clue that you are a poor performer since you have been getting "successful" ratings. And then having the audacity to the tell the whole world that the people being let go are all poor performers."

Intel layoffs are tiny (only 2.5%) I really doubt they will have a hard time finding 2.5% of deadwood to cut from the company. They started by removing the President Renee James, at Intel the execs actually take responsibility for their mistakes! Come back when you have something true to present on the Qualcomm board!

Qualcomm and Intel are in markets which are receding... be it mobile chips(mediate and over all ASP)...and Intel in PC market...... TI, Broadcom and Nvidia have suffered through this for sometime..... it is becoming a low margin game....

Any break up I painful..... and everyone suffers

Intel is doing massive cuts too - they are targeting folks based on RSU levels, it's complicated but in short, because they did not have many low performers, they went after folks that had lover RSU levels (for whatever reasons) as the management felt that's indicative of performance. They are doing ton of PIPs too, which kind of sucks as you get no severance - also they are cutting to the bone.
