Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

BOFA LAYOFF STYLE

4 here, 5 there, on this site you read of huge layoffs coming. There are usually layoffs on the days rumored, but have they been huge. I guess if you are one of the 4 it is huge. But it doesn't seem like a automobile plant shutdown at any of them. Looks like just a repeating pattern with disturbing frequency for anyone who is still employed that in a few weeks time you might be tapped. You won't get org names because most aren't dumb enough to give such details. Folks hate the thought of being cut but they hate the thought of losing a package too. Bridget spoke of right sizing said they were going to be done in the first quarter. Lie. Looks like they will just cut and cut and cut until they find out it really hurts and hopefully then it will be too late and they will really suffer. But they won't because so many folks are desperate to work. They obviously have an agenda and that agenda is all associates are a liability to the bottom line and they will get rid of as many of them as they can.

they've been nickle and diming the T in TI all year. Every few weeks new names appear as (Deleted) on email CC's. Being most of them are male or menopausal women, kind of rules out maternity leave

They cut our team (Corporate Workplace Real Estate) by outsourcing all our jobs to the facility partner (JLL and CBRE). We heard through the grapevine that the bank told the FP they didn't want any bank people coming over. They cut over 80% of about 525 people. When the announcement was first made, they told us we would get offers of at least what we were making. Lie... They told me it was all about money, but the person that replaced me in my region makes $20k more than me. 8/31 is our last day.

If you want to play military, this place is for you. Those who use online banking are also at fault. Stop using self-checkout, use real people check out (branches, grocery etc)!!!

All the babes thinking faster easier “at a cost”! (headcount reduction).

I was discriminated by my manager who did not want me working for him. He would pull me in for weekly reviews (sometimes two a week) attempting to create a case where I was not doing my job but I had always referenced emails vindicating myself (free from blame or guilt), which infuriated him. He continued this treatment on employees he did not want working for him. HR knows it will wear you down until you leave or make a mistake. Got tired of the bullshit and left. My current employer over two years has rolled out the red carpet to me (Perks, awards, bonus, food, smiles and I make the same salary). I am doing less for more without an idiot manager with a grudge over my back. Do not believe when they say you are not doing enough. It is the Kool-Aid and the perverted management style this place is pushing. It will be this banks downfall. I will preach against this bank until I die. I will also give them the hard time they had given me. On a side note the woman are much more difficult to eliminate from this bank (managers go after them last) . Woman only with kids (protected class) with go farther in this bank. Favoritism as its finest.

BOFA managers usually cut people not by performance or experience. They cut people that they don't like.

Yeah, I agree with the Band 4 comment. I and a white male over 40 years old and was cut 3 times during my time there, each time from a Band 4 position. I finally gave up on BAC and went to Wells Fargo where I have been very happy.

I think this layoff would have been bigger in Dallas Fort Worth had it not been for that temporary redeploy to Richardson. I think 85 people or so got moved, its just temporary but I bet a lot of them would have been axed had it not been for that

The cuts will be at least once a month for the rest of the year. Any management saying cuts in first qtr were it was either flat out lying or was given some really crappy info

that's almost laughable, yes, i guess if you rule out the socially acceptable middle age white guy, yes, the next in line would be the white female. You might have a point given they've axed most of the former, so there's slim pickins there unless you get into the upper crust where the old boys club still has a bit of a safety factor, band 3 and above of course. B4 white men are an easy target.

agree they will just continue to cut each month with no regard to skills or experience. Again it is laughable how the targets are predominantly female.
