Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

The problem with Qualcomm is we never had a strong CTO. Smart men, clever at pushing bits through a pipe, but not visionaries.

I think the visionary argument has something to it. That said, it's damn rare to find a Steve Jobs or Elon Musk who's not too busy ranting on a street corner.
