Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

Pending Layoffs for VP's

Maybe they are planning on laying of any of their over 80 Vice Presidents within the company. This title has been handed around WFT like candy. VP of mmmm pick a title. They actually have VP of specific accounts, like VP of Shell, VP of Exxon, VP of Strategic Sales (isn't selling CORE to Weatherford and not strategic)? I would like to meet the VP of Non-Strategic Sales. The shear quantity of VP's in the WFT organization is a complete embarrassment, clean house from the top down and not from the bottom up.

In any other company they would be call sales or account managers. If only Bernard was forced to report total compensation from the VP level up you would see some big dollars.

You are all clueless. It doesn’t matter how many low life jobs could be saved by eliminating even one VP. Without the VPs, who is going to demand arcane sensibility studies or critique your injudicious PowerPoint presentations in myriad dry runs? Who else can show you how trivial your value truly is to the company? You should be grateful for each one of us. Who else can have assistants to do continual KPI updates and forward to upper management? Without our assistants, who is going to estimate this quarter’s stock options and perform detailed financial forecasts to determine the optimal time to exercise them? Ours is a highly stressful job and we don’t make nearly enough. I need a raise!

23K put me in line! The VP's I have dealt with makes the qualifications pretty weak. Education = no required, Actual work experience = none needed, knee pads = REQUIRED

I'll pick a title, how about Vice President of Vice. Has a certain ring to it.

Average VP is being paid 23,000 USD per month. take that and multiple it, how many employees that are revenue generators could that have saved?
