Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Enjoy the weekend, you'll survive this.

I've been through it a few times, if this is your first time it's normal to be angry and apprehensive, but you'll be OK. Setbacks are temporary. Struggles give way to new opportunities. When a door gets closed God opens a new one.

Make sure you get on linked in and connect with the people you like and respect, if nothing else as a way to stay in touch, but also if they land it may give you an opportunity and you them.

And let's show each other a little understanding. You are probably not the worst off person here.

the situation is dramatic different this time, industry is undergoing drastically cut, and change, all due to 1. Asian companies(Chinese, Korean, Taiwannese) catching up, 2. Bad culture influence from Indians, bad management.

If you are looking around, the trend is just started, hardware companies are lining up to cut people, it will be very hard to find any job, some of you will be forced to make decision to switch career in middle age.

It will take few years to settle the dust.

Very good and sincere advice. My spouse was affected by the intel layoffs and some of the comments over there are brutal. Best of luck to everyone.
