Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Paul was grossly incompetent and so were others. Stupid bell heads.

  1. Should have been obvious that data capacity in mobile infrastructure is increasing. I mean isnt Qualcomm among the first ones to know these things...

  2. Should have been obvious that people would consume content on mobile

  3. Should have been obvious if any of them did teeny market research that consumption would be in short cycles.

  4. Should have acquired youtube in 2005 instead of throwing money at a proprietary frequency band in his stupid pet project MediaFlo

No software people are allowed to rise above the rank of Director at Qualcomm, it has a glass ceiling for Software Engineers. Qualcomm will soon be put to death by Apple and Google which are software companies. Game over, Qualcomm.

Qualcomm is not a SW company, it's a HW company. Our SW standards are abysmal compared to real SW companies like Google and Apple. No way we could have done what Google did with Android.

It was Irwin who sold phone right after Q made its first smartphone right before the smartphone boom. We could have been Apple, except for a lack of vision and faith.

Qualcomm is a one trick pony, it was a good trick but now people are tired of it.

The one thing Sanjay understood was execution. He was very detail oriented and also operation focused.

When you lose the sight of your product, you end up with crapdragon.

He was once asked why Qulacomm didn't acquire Android. He said “we were considering purchase it. But 1

we already have BREW;2 people will worry that we are too strong since we are already dominant in hardware.” this is completely BS
