Colossal mistake. Paul was a fool. I learned in 2001 that there are a billion nice "demos" of MEMs that can be done in the lab. How many can be manufactured in volume? ONE. Yes, exactly ONE. And that one is the DLP project chip that Texas Instruments produces. Mirasol? Nope. Not only that during corp R&D open house I talked to the mirasol engineers. When you play a video on a mirasol display it uses just as much energy (if not more) than a TFT LCD panel. Mirasol was one of the many execution mistakes by QT&V, which was responsible for losing the trust of all the major USA CDMA telcos (Verizon, Sprint, ...) when Broadcom bought a company that QT&V PASSED ON and used it to choke of chipset production and extort $800M out of Verizon in ~2008.
