Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Fire Watson and the entire HR team...

By firing Watson and his executive VPs and managers, the company could save thousands of jobs. Also, the entire HR team should be fired. People in charge of hiring at Chevron have hired thousands of incompetant people that were hired only because they had some connection. They were related or friends with people who were hiring. These guys have amassed a massive bunch of non-competant people who should not be at Chevron. They do not understand ABC of oil and gas.

I have seen HR laugh at this layoff, acting like little immature kids.... They think they are untouchable.... The said thing is not too many of them are qualified anyways. They use HR as a development position. No experience Necessary. But responsible for the heart of the organization. Doesen't make sense.

Don't blame HR. HR takes orders from the top level executives in the business. If you raise a fuss about their illogical or unethical plans it is you who gets the pink slip. Believe me I've seen it again and again.

Have them work for one year with truly ZERO compensation. No salary, no stock options, no loans written off, no salary to accrue during that year to be paid out at a later date, no corporate card use for living expenses, no reimbursement of any kind. Get it? Have them live off of their savings for a year like the prospects the rest of us face!

After all the layoffs are done, Watson and his executives will get a raise and Bonus....and this will be at the expense of thousands of layoffs. I challenge Watson and his executive team and managers to work for no salary and return all the money so ordinary jobs can be saved.

I hold no CVX stock, not since it declined from its high one year ago, as nothing continues to go up for too long. I diversified into low volatility mutual funds, but kept most of my 401k in Vanguard Prime Money Market. It's still that way today. Always be a prudent investor, not a gambler.

Chevron stock is now at $89, down from $133 just one year ago. The Iran nuclear deal will allow Iran's great oil supply to add to the over supply.

And what exactly are you going to about it? Occupy yourself with your own job. That's what I do. When you've had enough years of this, put in for retirement and leave.

Expose the corruption on this blog and on the hotline. Yes, there are friends and relatives hiring friends and relatives and giving them 2+ and 1 ratings. Chevron has rules on nepotism, but they are not enforced, because the middle-managers are the ones abusing the system. John Watson doesn't know how corrupt it is below deck. Does BCG know? Write them. HR is not working for Watson or the shareholders, they are protecting the middle managers they report to in their business units.

We all can agree or disagree, but I'm fine with John Watson. IMO, he has done a fine job at the helm of Chevron all these years. As for the other directors on the Board, the only one I can comment positive on, is George Kirkland. All the others, I have no clue on because they don't have name recognition. As for Corporate HR and others throughout the BU's... yes, go ahead and toss them out. For the most part, they are bumbling idiots. I have no comment on the so-called incompetent employees. I don't know of any, personally. Everyone brings something to the table. If you think you know one, be a good employee and see if you can mentor them or even lend a hand, if they don't think it's an insult. Just be the best you can be, that is what will make Chevron a better company right away. God bless.

It would be nice if some of the executive team was from OUTSIDE chevron.

You know people outside of this place would say....ahhhh these guys are just bitching. But those of us here...especially coming from functional business know this is not sustainable! If you tried your best you could not f*** it up this bad.

Hmm that makes sense.. Fire Watson and all the executive staff because they make so much money and could save the jobs of thousands and thousands of incompetent workers that HR brought in.

So, no leadership (or promote incompetent workers to be next leaders), cool
