Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Yes, you will get screwed out of your RSUs/Options, ESPP vest date,etc...

A lot of you are naively wondering why all this is going to happen so close to the next RSU vest date. If you think this is a coincidence, Lol.....If Qualcomm was "decent", if you do get terminated, they would let you burn through your accrued vacation first, and that would most likely bridge you over until the vest date...But qualcomm has a history of screwing people out of their RSU/options. Just ask anyone that was part of the CBS infrastructure team that got sold to Ericsson...Or ask any of the folks that were part of Gimbal that got sold recently to the private equity firm. No vesting, complete option lost A lot of us finally feel vindicated that every one of you now can see how ugly Qualcomm has previously just treated a fraction of us in isolation. Because for the longest time, the only difference between us and the rest of you, is you guys managed to dodge a bullet and got lucky. Well, the bullet is really big this time. I would recommend that if you feel like you are in danger of getting the axe, you burn you talk to your manager to see if you can schedule an extended vacation (like if you have 4+ weeks of vacation, go on vacation pay such that the vest date overlaps for the time you are out on vacation). That way, if you get laidoff, they'll put your layoff date after your vacation date.

I sure hope they do, but I wouldn't count on it. Kiss the Nov. vesting good buy for now, and if you in the end get it, buy that ThnxGiving turkey :-)

I think vesting in Nov is the reason they are giving notification is September with 60 days period transition so you can stay till end of nov and get your RSUs. They could have notified earlier too but i think that's the reason to delay it. Call me eternal optimist but i don't want to be skeptic about everything, if they are saying qualcomm way looks to me they are trying to be nice to people.

124336, Accelerated Vesting? HAHAHAHAHAHA.... Are you a Senior VP? Fair????How naive are you....Yes, they could do it. But they aren't. Why would they? Out of the goodness of their heart????No way.... Dream on....Vested RSU's costs the company MONEY. Something they are trying to save. The entire point of this exercise is to save money. So, why would they try to give all the people they are going to layoff more money when they don't have to/want to? You guys still think Qualcomm does things out of the goodness of their heart. They don't. They never have. The only difference back then was because their bottom line wasn't in trouble.

QC can do accelerated vesting if they want. I think they should at least do it for rsu vesting with in 90 day of termination date to look fair.
