Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Is SM an honorable CEO? Will he live up to providing a fair layoff package?

It's just the facts of business that every company will have layoffs at some time. The question is will the company treat the people who are responsible for the company's success fairly when the inevitable layoffs come.

SM said in his company address: "decisions will be made in a fair and thoughtful manner. Full support and a transition period will be provided to all employees impacted.

These actions, while difficult, will be done the Qualcomm way, which means with respect and care for those who will be affected,"

I know that in the last layoff (Jan. 2015) that the "layoff package" was different between QC divisions. I would hope that this time around everyone affected would get the same deal. Not allowing divisions to screw their employees while others get treated better.

Also, will they try to fire some folks before the layoff occurs to save QC money?

Will they accept "volunteers" for the layoff so that older employees who don't need the income as much can sacrifice their job to save one or two others?

There are people at QC who are willing to do this.

Making this stressful event as easy as possible would be an act of a caring company. After all isn't one of Qualcomm's slogans "Qualcomm Cares"?

So, we'll have to see if Mr. Mollenkopf lives up to his statements and actually is a caring compassionate CEO who is in touch and is overseeing this layoff.

Or, if he is nothing more than a scheister puppet "talking the talk but not walking the walk".

I hope he realizes that he is a multi-multi-millionaire not only because of his hard work but because of the hard work of the people he is letting go.

So, I ask him to ponder this question: WWID (what would Irwin do?)
