Thread regarding Baker Hughes Inc. layoffs

Martin Craighead in yesterday's Houston Chronicle

Total compensation from 2013 to 2014 was a staggering +64% to nearly $15 million. Meanwhile, thousands of BHI workers were laid off! ABSURD!

2014 was reported to be a better year then 2013.... The bonus was actually smaller though. At least for us small people.

If you are open minded and willing to learn, read on . . . else close the window now! Executive compensation is based on company performance and stock price, from $1/year to millions. 2014 was an absurdly profitable year vs. 2013 (recall the great bonus YOU got), hence the high income. It is not magic or jealousy, just normal deals to attract excutive talent. Please research what Craighead's base, bonus, stock awards, expense account, entertainment allowance, club membership, deferred retirement fund, golden parachute . . . details and explain that to us. Wouldn't you?,

No one sugested that he take a pay cut. Although that wouldn't be a bad idea since he is so grossly overpaied. What was said was that his pay increased by 64% when everybody else in the company was taking pay cuts or getting layed off. That is ABSURD...and its a good example of whats wrong with our society....

How is this ABSURB? He is the CEO of the company. Did you take a paycut to save someone's job? Why would he?
