Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

My manager asked me for SHAREit! self-feedback, and IT has asked me to do a company property review. Am I being targeted for layoff?

What other people said. Also, line up references for future jobs who aren't your managers or project leads--just in case you think they can't be trusted to give a favorable review. Since QCOM is cutting managers and directors, a future employer is less likely to question a reference from a highly skilled coworker. In most cases, QCOM will only confirm your dates of employment, your salary, and whether or not they would hire you again. IF QCOM lays you off, it's difficult to know how they'll respond to the last one. Update your resume. You may also want to update your resume now, and start circulating it. A lot of major companies have rather lengthy hiring processes.

You sir, are reading too much into a coincidence:

You may or maynot be let go. I dont think even your dir/VP has a clue at the moment.

Yes. I got the same thing from IT and I do know I am being let go for a fact. But you have time until November. Do your job in the meantime and let's hope you will get a nice package. Update your resume and start looking for an alternative. But do take a month off to relax and re-energize before starting your next job. Most companies will not hire until after September (new fiscal year). Good luck my friend.

If your manager tells you your are safe then you are safe. lack of assurance from your managers (such as I don't know) is a sign that you are on the chopping block.

I wouldn't worry unless you have gotten a password exhortation notice in the last three months or so.
