I was once on H1B employed at qualcomm, resigned few months back, due to lack of personal growth. I was hired by a White Guy at Q, whose father fought in Korean war. I was paid a lot more than many of you will earn after working 5 years at Qualcomm. I never forcibly did that, i was chosen by a fair process and hired by him (again white guy) . I just come here to read post because i am worried about my ex-colleagues. All i see is hatred and racism. Never ever in my review process any guy from my country was involved as i hardly worked with them, so you cant blame my ratings either based on race. Always 4+
If you really think qualcomm hires h1bs to lower wages of US Citizen then its delusional on your part. Some people claim we work more hours and calculate per hour cost, but a company hires full time and pays everyone same irrespective of hours they put in. Anyways not diverting from topic. I got a US visa through a US embassy controlled by US Citizens, came via Homeland security checkpost at airport , paid 35000 $ as MS fees + housing cost etc, gave interview and got selected by a white guy for more salary than most US Citizens at Q. Where in this whole process , i am at fault ? Each and every step till i got a job was controlled by US Citizens, ? Why are you blaming us ? and not the government and company who hired us ? I understand and accept some people lack ethics and integrity irrespective of race but it doesn't define everyone. Also most people here dont represent the whole Q so its all good, not generalizing all the US Citizens like you guys since i know the fact.
PS: Many of you wont even read this post but start commenting. Bottom line is educate yourself and don't just balme and generalize. If you really want to blame , blame your government who legally allow us to come and study and work after that. Sorry if any one here gets laid off but its not the fault of employees on H1 or other visa.Good luck
