Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

How about letting family members of the COMPANY Upper managers go first.

It is obvious that bunch of higher mangers's kids like D&C GM, and .... are protected from this massive layoff....

If this issue is ok . Then why calling out people's name is bad???? Have you listen to our earning today . Enough of accepting poor management, we should call them out and hold them accountable. I know a business unit where a son of this elite is working with his dad ion same project, give me a f..in break.

We all should call them out, Chevron is sinking wake up call.

The problem is not that I don't understand the problems associated with company nepotism. There should be policies against it for all the obvious reasons. The problem is people thinking it's ok and justified to call out people by name on a public forum. However, they post anonymously. Righteous cowards.

Wow people on this thread don't understand why u don't hire kids. Please take an organizational design/culture course at your local community college.

It is not just top managers, middle managers and supervisors employ relatives or hire them as contractors. Chevron is full of nepotism. Fill out an application at Halliburton, Exxon, or even Walmart, and you will have to identify family members.

What's a shame is the requirement to have an on campus interview with any "legacy" candidates in college. Wasting people's time to review entitled brats. Don't forget the phone calls to lead recruiters questioning why little precious didn't get a job offer and the strong advice to reconsider.

Yes on organizational culture. People will not be fair and objective when the Kings's daughter is being evaluated. It's good to be the King. I agree on not understanding basic Organizational Culture and hiring practices. Are we that ignorant of a Company that we don't understand why we don't hire our kids a senior leaders??

This is classic. You do not hire relatives. Especially sons and daughters. Even if they are rock stars the stigma will be over them for ever. Not fair to them or the company. But I can say they are not rock stars. That's why they have nepotism policies. Wow at the total lack of understanding about 101 org culture with some of these post. So and So is a good family. They are in a position of power and hiring kids is a violation of that power. Let them go out and create their own path.

So because you work at chevron your family and friends make strong hiring candidates? Give me a break. Why even hire out of the family? We got it solved. End recruiting we've already got the pipeline of talent we need!

it is funny that you are generalizing that they are smarter than average.... and no one here is whining. Truth always hurts. I have seen these kids and how they think that they are celebrities cuz their moms and dads are upper managers. and I am not saying all of them but most of them they think that they are protected

I had a legacy intern who was terrible. We ranked him a 3 and never saw him again. Created a stink but it blew over. The kids of managers that I have worked with are generally smarter than the average bear so stop your whining.

You people are scum. I hope the people on here that thought it was a good idea to call out certain families by name choke on their pink slips. The people you are talking about are really good, dedicated people. They good to work and work hard everyday just like you. It's not their fault you suck at your job. I really don't understand why so many people thinks Chevron owes them anything. You were well paid. Nobody made you work for Chevron. If you could run the company better, you wouldn't be on the chopping block.

Start using that energy to figure out what you will do if you get laid off. Not picking on defenseless people.

Just want to see who has had balls to give -2 and 3 to the kids of elites. CHEVRON WAY may ass....

Hahaha. I give a shit less about my job. Those listed are beyond incompetent. This company needs to adopt anti-nepotism rules. Too many times we make bad hires this way. It's a bad dream.

lol you guys make it sound like getting rid of payne's daughter will save your own job?

if you didn't play the game right, then you didn't play the game right. you make it sound like the whole company is a bunch of employees related to the executives... even if they all went first, it's likely that the people bitching on here would still be gone.
