You have been brain washed by Chevron Way BS, When they send you to the house after 25 years of employment than lets hear the opportunity BS, Are you related to a Chevron management staff or better yet, a Horizon employee then you have nothing to worry about because you will never be ranked below a 2 and job protection is a grantee as well.

The PMP process Chevron has in place has nothing to do with your actual performance trust me. Ask the family members and the Horizon folks working the over budget projects.

Lets hire more inexperience employees rank them 1 every year and promote them every two years.

Only MCP projects that had good PM's and contractors were Tahiti and JSM.....not JSM2. Both were under budget and on schedule. HES DWEP MCP is being run by a woman who plays favorites and has no idea what she's doing. I agree that Chevron will get what it deserves with the management it has. Hopefully someone will come to their senses and actually open their eyes to see what really works.

Stop trying to recreate something that works.

Most of the PM on MCPs they don;t know the basics of the CPDEP or CPMS, and they run the projects. now wonder all of the projects are overrun and delayed. They can not even confront the contractors because of the CHEVRON WAY. It is bizarre and they need to wake to reality.

BTW, Watson is getting fatter and fatter.

Anonymous127672 You said it all! Let the pain begin. I am not effected by this round. Not even close but I am smart enough to know I will be in the next year. My wife works for Shell. They have made strategic mistakes on some issues. We made strategic mistakes on every issue and can not execute projects. This is worse than anything in 86 not from a market standpoint but from a strategic Chevron management standpoint.

@Anonymous127616. If your job got affected by the Alpha, Matrix, and whatever other funky names they came up with, then we would see who was a cry baby.... be realistic here. and this is just a tip of the ice berg, and believe me you will see more massive layoffs coming next year. Then I really want to see your posting then. I have been in this indusrty long enough and I have seen ups and downs buddy....This one is totally caused by our short sight greed. OPEC is doing the right thing, why would they cut the production whilst we glut the market with $60+/ BBL oil while they still can make over 50% profit if the oil goes below $20/BBL.

This is BS... when the technology is not mature and encomium enough to go after Shale to compete with cheap OPEC oil, this would be the result, and it boils into the lack of competence of managers!!! are you kidding me about the opportunity.

This is an e onomic issue caused by OPEC. Exxon is also laying off. You can blame everyone for the situation but you should be thankful for the opportunities you had.
