It really is appalling to me that John Watson did not attend the 2Q 2015 Chevron Earnings Conference Call on July 31. This was Chevron's worst quarter in 13 long years, and our CEO didn't have the guts to be there to take questions from the analysts. He sent Pat Yarirngton (Vo-CFO), Jay Johnson (Exec VP-Upstream) and Frank Mount (GM, Investor Relations) to face the music. Watson is not the leader we need and should step down. He has lost my respect. This disappearance act isn't too different than the laryngitis he faked in the 2015 Worldwide Employee Teleconfetence he opened in Feb this year. He is only avoiding the hard questions; first by his employees and lastly by the investment community analysts.

Does anything Watson do surprise anyone? I feel he is so out of touch and has no business running Chevron. Board of Directors --- your job is to look for a backfill and retire Watson. Not showing he knows what he is doing.
Wonder if the board is so stacked with chevron minions there's no chance for somebody coming in from the outside. That's the only way the crap gets moved out.
Bad buys in PA (Atlas) and Canada (Kitty) under the current CEO. Also he has been at the helm during Gorgon, Wheatstone and Angola LNG cost over run disasters not to mention Big Foot. Hello CVX BOD!!
F*** you is that civil enough....why are you on this board if you will look for a job?
John Watson had really lost his voice during the global town hall. Those of us in Houston were witness to it. As for his missed profits call for Q2 2015, he doesn't want to present a false, fluffy story that can later be used against him. in my opinion.
Can we keep it civil? ... is that you, Mr. Watson?
Yes peoples. Can we keep it civil. Thanks!
I'm not going to play Monday morning quarterback with Watson's performance and reasons for not attending the conference call. When you're under a microscope everything is amplified. I'm not apologizing for him or for Chevron as I to am not happy about the last two years and once again am facing a ROM. And if I do happened to get let go my plan is to look for a job, not an audience to vent my bile. The tone on here is disgusting and will only serve to negate the valid list of issues and solutions that have been posted here.
What a big fat pussy with the losing his voice in the townhall. Punk bitch Watson. He will loose his job with a 30 million parachute. He is keeping quiet and will get out with a boat load of cash.
In what universe will Gorgon start up without major snafu's. Please refer to Angola LNG that was 10 billion over budget and less than a third of planned capacity because of design flwas....it's f***ing rusting out! Don't believe me ask! These assholes sunk unsinkable tethers. 2 years for big foot now? This charade is coming to an end. You will see the waste of time and money AMBY cone to an end before the end of winter. They have to NOJV that entire shit hole because we can not drill a gas well. A company this size that fails at something that small will never get a project like Gorgon smoothly on line. You know it's true. Shit, they can not reserve a conference room at a hotel to tell us we are getting fired. These are not bitches but facts.....Watson is scarred shitless. How do you explain these failures??? You explain them with time, give us more time to execute with excellence......well John time has run out. This 2 billion dollar shortfall is about to turn into an 10 billion upstream short fall. Look at the income statement and balance sheet....it will be 10 billion steady state. Downstreams 3 billion profit won't cover these losses. Chevron has treated those gorgon contractors horribly....google typhoon gorgon. Chevron will now get a strike and work stoppage. mid 2016 is a pipe dream.
A lot of cranes still up in that photo.... Still moving heavy pieces to install.... bolt down, pass inspection, test, etc.... I hope we make 2015 even though it probably won't prevent round two of alpha.
Jay, you get a 2minus on your interrim PMP
Sydney Morning Herald, Mar 12, 2015: Chevron will ship its first LNG cargo from the $US54 billion ($70.5 billion) Gorgon project before year's end and said the monster venture would be "nicely profitable" despite the drop in crude oil prices. Incoming head of upstream, Jay Johnson said gas would arrive at the plant being constructed on Barrow Island off the WA coast "any day", to be used to fire up the first gas turbine generator. First production would be in the third quarter, and the first LNG exports by the end of the year.

Q2 2015 Conference call- Jay Johnson: "(at Gorgon) ....we continue to make good progress?.. . As you can see from the photo, plant constuction is advanced. First LNG ..is likely to occur in 2016".
He probably "lost" his voice like he did at the employee town hall!
