NOV New Factory in Russia

National Oilwell Varco (NOV) wishes to establish a manufacturing a in Kostroma, Russia to build Drilling and Well Servicing Rigs and Drilling Tools to service the Russian Oil and Gas market directly and provide products for export to the wider international market place.

NOV has a long history in both the manufacturing of oil field equipment and establishment of successful operations outside the USA.

Today NOV has 800 locations in 60 countries providing industry leading products and services. NOV is excited about the opportunity to establish this manufacturing facility in Kostroma, Russia and believes the timing and location of this investment will deliver significant benefits to all parties involved.

Goodbye to your investment, bet you never considered that when you built the plant. Hard to see how you could get the money out even if you manage to sell it.

To Synyster Gates,

Do you understand that part of the reason NOV is opening factories in Russia and Brazil is because those countries with state-owned oil companies often require a certain % of locally-made content from their equipment suppliers? It actually works out well for NOV...made the rig derrick, frames, etc. locally (just fabrication mainly) and then they still supply the top drives and other more sophisticated equipment from the plants in the U.S. This doesn't help facilities like Galena Park, but it's good for everything else.

Better for Russia to buy products from China, cheaper and better service than any product from NOV Russia, backed by sanctions from the yankees.
