Good luck on archiving all the deepwater prospect data. Once everybody gets laid off in the group, nobody will be able to locate it. No database, no system, no disipline. If you needed to find specific prospect data you had to "ask somebody". Once everybody is gone, who are you going to ask?

engineering is in abundance everywhere and consultants are all over the place....they will spend a million buck extra and get all the data they need...
And in ten years you will hear them saying "lets get into deepwater" now that the shales have started to wind down. "How else will we grow?" So short sighted. So obviously not thought out.
Smart enough? Which data set should they use? The final version? The final version updated? Or the revised final version updated? No wait. I heard they are working on a revised final version updated V2. Go ask somebody.
it is of companies least of priorities to soft land deep water data. They want to keep the head above the water level for the next few years....until oil industry turns over....
they are smart enough to secure the work in a way that it could be resurrected later when required...
Very deliberate.
