"VP in QC is not such a high title" This is very true. Unfortunately the pay/benefits associated with this title is not justified either IMO. So from a total compensation point of view, IMO, only the absolutely deserved folks needs to be promoted to this level. Given that we are in a state where cost cutting is in effect, I dont see why we need more VPs to begin with. Secondly, Why do we have someone getting promoted when there are others that are more qualified. What were the criteria for this promotion? There has been to many VP promotions to this level this time around which seems very suspicious. As far as company trying to elevate the position of women in engineering with this promotion.. really? At this time of cost cutting? Even if it were the case, should'nt one be chosen that has a very good backup across the organization (after all, this candidate is to represent the whole org and compensated highly). I know directors have been shooting down good hard working candidates for promotion based on absolutely nothing except that they have no info on the person or that the candidate did not work favorably towards the directors project... Why is the promo for this person being approved so easily... I am also told there are some "quota" on the number of promos due to budget constraints. If so approving a promo (that is not well justified for) and, allegedly, purely based on favoritism, is bound to cut into others well deserved promotion. This is absolutely unfair and unjust, if it indeed is the case that it was based on favoritism alone. Really would like to know the outcome of the HR/legal investigation on this.
I worked with Rashmi on a project from another organization. I thought she was smart, worked hard, and had excellent organizational skills. Unless someone comes up with better evidence than "everyone knows", I am not sure what to make of all this... talk.

It is true same affair and favor between Sudaran Kesava (SK)and Vanita Kum*r (VK). These two love birds meet every day in SK's office and then go out in SK's car to get coffee. SK never makes any decision without trying to appease VK otherwise, VK will stop giving the favors SK to dearly loves. TS knows all of these but makes no attempt to prevent such corrupt culture.

She is famous for only socializing with dirs/sr dirs/vps etc. and not doing any work...it's okay if she is technically good but not the way she has been...below average/under performer...

It may be PS who might have pushed R do it else threaten to give poor ratings...this kind of sexual harassment is not very uncommon..there was recent famous lawsuits about it,may be R can sue this bastard..that's how this will improve.

Most of the people in modem team knows about it including Tony S.,It is Tony S who is responsible to prevent these kind of things...its cheating both qcom and honest hardworking employees.

Promoting her to VP is an insult to other deserving people, example Vivek K, who is still stuck at Sr.Dir

This lady was stuck at the staff title for several years in the modem SW team...I never saw her working in a place that was full of highly talented and hard working engineers and leads...and then as soon as she started working with this male VP......boooooom...sr. staff, principle, dir, sr dir, vp...there was no stopping...very demotivating for the people who actually deserved it and must be extremely demotivating for the super talented people who work in their org...
It is funny that everyone talk about this unethical issue (of the most biased promotions in the history of Qualcomm) of this lady...everyone in the company knows and talks about it...but the management (people above them) have no clue and they just keep on approving this lady's promotions after promotions with no technical or leadership skills...both of these people should be terminated instead of getting more responsibilities and higher title...the male VP mentioned here is the biggest jerk who doesn't even know how to talk to people...I guess no one wants to complain to the HR...Hope HR is reading these posts...
I seems Prakash go scared and paid layoff.com to get it deleted..,I am not concerned about their personal life but disgusted thinking how females use their body to take undue advantage grow in corporate ladder..no self respect and all greed.
