Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

RAE Pride Parade?

How will the RAE layoffs be handled? Will we all be asked to report to HR? Will we be walked to our cars accompanied by security guards? How publically humiliating and disrespectful will this be?

It is about time to get rid of you sorry incompetent asses. No more running to another BU as a must hire because you suck at your job. You never thought your bad attitudes and behaviors would catch up with you, but it did. This is the best thing for the company. Welfare mentality rejects. See ya, don't want to be ya! Loosers. And by the way, Jesus is laughing at you.

If you have a big blue weinee, you better make a doctors appointment while you have access to health insurance. There's something very wrong.

Instead of BOHICA! You could say you're getting the Big Blue Weanie.... dry. (This "Big Blue" is not to be confused with IBM though.)

Should we have a RAE "Happy Hour" at The Refinery? Some other location?

BOHICA (Military Slang)

Acronym of bend over, here it comes again. Used colloquially to indicate that an adverse situation is about to repeat itself, and that acquiescence is the wisest course of action.

There's no telling how the layoffs will be handled. In one BU earlier this year, the employee was notified by letter from his/her supervisor. The letter initiated a 6-week period of redeployment, meaning the employee could start taking advantage of outplacement services (resume building, honing interview skills, even looking for outside work). Within this 6-week period, the employee was expected to show up for his/her regular job duties and post for any jobs they qualified for in the PDC. This is how it went in the BU I'm referring to. As for the RAE in your BU, it's very possible this is the process that will be used. Don't dismiss the prospect that the affected employee is called into a side office and notified of their case, then immediately escorted to their desk for 10 minutes to pack one box before shown to the front door or off the parking lot. Any remaining personal items will be later shipped to your address if record. It was done this way in the past. Everyone should have by now, backed up all personal files to a thumb drive and deleted it off their company computer. Same with paper files and the like. If in the event they go the route of escorting you out of the building, it's best to have already cleaned your files and desk of all things you want to keep. Save yourself the humiliation of being seen leaving with a box in hand and a security guard following you out.
