Most of these bad jokes are recycled from jokes about Southerners and farmers during the Depression, and later Poles and other racial/ethnic groups, from the 40's, 50's and 60's. (The ones about bombs/explosions are new; but then again, most of you all wouldn't understand the ones involving outhouses....) They may be offensive to some, but they amuse because they are silly stereotypes that hardly rise to the level of a threat to national security. I would hope that if QCOM truly hired "the best and brightest" that they would be smart enough to come up with something a bit more original. My theory is that HR is deliberately sowing dissension so they can threaten the owner of the site. I'd make QCOM show proof that it wasn't an inside job before doing anything.
We also need a Negative Nancy Nanny to put on timeout anybody who posts anything other than sunny positive HR cheerleading commentary. You heard the chairman. We can't get thru these firings if we're not all in it together, and POSITIVE about it. If RSUs continue to vest under a cloud of negativity, it might exceed some people's guilt threshold.
