As in Germany some managers have accepted an 18 month "retainer" so that the talent does not leave. During this time they will receive 100% of their salary but are forbidden by contract to apply for work elsewhere. Lawyer, Controllers, Human Resources, Area Manager, and even lower grade managers are included.

Managers are protecting there people , when the manager is at home somebody with green blood and no emotions will come by and do their job.
After that the manager can be fired because there is no bussines left and is much cheaper to do so then.
The law has changed in europe and there is hardly no cost anymore to kick somebody out.
A manager can be replaced only more easy.
Who's going to turn down a 18 month paid holiday many will brush up on their golf skills turn up for work at 10am and leave at 11am
It's very hard and expensive to lay off people in Europe. It's much cheaper to give them 18 months and wait it out.
Here's how WFT views it a managers knowledge and contacts are irreplaceable everyone else regardless of skills and knowledge can be replaced. Soon there will be many stay at home managers on full salary there facilities may be closed and all their staff laid off but they will be ready to start again when the upturn comes around probably in 18 months?
How does this save the company money? It does nothing but overload the ones picking up their jobs while they live the high life. Do they still have company cars, credit cards, or expenses diring that time? I just dont understand how this helps the company. Please explain.
