An answer on Unemployment Benefits: in Texas, you can apply online without having to go into an agency office. Lookup Texas Unemployment Commission (TWC) online. You should apply as soon as possible once you worked your last day. Your benefits will be paid by check, but you can apply to have it direct deposited to your personal checking account.

Bobbie Sue, whoa, whoa, she slipped away

Billy Joe caught up to her the very next day

They got the money, hey

You know they got away

They headed down south and they're still running today

Singin' go on take the money and run

Go on take the money and run

Go on take the money and run

Go on take the money and run

Go on take the money and run

Go on take the money and run

Also, can we just leave now? I'm not doing anything. Already packed up my desk.

Also, how soon do we file for unemployment? I want my max of 12K

I got the email and I also see the Severance page. Does this mean this is a done deal? I'm so ready to leave this place. Take the money and run...

Also realize that about 1/3 of the estimated package amount is going to taxes. And, it takes about two pay periods for Chevron to send it to you.

Yep. A lot of our top employees took that package and started work with competitors the next day, including some of our top geologists at the time.

I was lucky. 14 yrs ago, when Chevron took over Texaco, you could ask to be voluntarily terminated and receive 4 weeks of pay for each year of service. Chevron had to offer this as it was the package Texaco personnel were offered. Took the money and ran!

The retirement page the previous poster refers to is the "Retirement" tab found in the Human Resources "Benefits Connection". At that Chevron website, you also find tabs for Health and Welfare. If you sign-in and go to the Retirement tab, you will see a drop-down menu where you can run the Retirement Estimator. Well, if you are an employee who is eligible for the severance plan, you'll see a new item called "Severance" among the items in the drop-down list. But don't think the information for this selection will give for a lot of useful information. It will only provide you with a calculation of your gross severance amount. You can run this same calculation on a tour function calculator, which is: Two weeks of your current gross annualized pay x your years of eligible service. Pray you don't receive a letter so you don't have to check the Benefits Connections webpage.
