Thread regarding National Oilwell Varco Inc. layoffs

Fair Pay

I know this is a site for layoffs and discussion about job cuts, etc... But wanted to see what you all think about compensation levels here - I am really not happy with my situation and think it's not just me. I think that people do not want to work hard because there is no carrot and they feel that they are paid below what they think they deserve.

I'd take low pay, no bonus, work 40-45 with some work stress in exchange for a NON covert narcissistic psychopath manager obsessed with power, manipulation & control. Those kind of people are toxic emotional vampires. Run far away from these haughty malignant evil beings. They reside at NOV

Anonymous 134165, this must be your very first job. There are much better companies out there who offer great bonus, extra paid time off, pay more without working over 40/week, weekends or nights, with minimal to no stress. Here's the best part of it all, the staff including management isn't vile or vicious.

I would say it depends. For salary, it's lower here than other competitors, but the perks are better. There is an attractive bonus, more paid time off, and less stressful work environment in my opinion. It depends which you value most. I think some are ok with a lower pay in exchange for working 40-45 hrs a week with no interruption of weekends, nights, etc.
