Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Last day before my RAE Day

Made sure to take full advantage of the fit break and excercise classes at the fitness center offered during working hours. Visited SBUX twice. Made sure I was up to date on BBS observations and CSOC feedback. I want to go out on a high note so I think I hit all the value added activities. What should I do with the second half of the day? Ride the "upgraded" 1400 elevators and log the number of people taking an elevator up or down 1 floor?

I'm not going in tomorrow, they will have to call or email me with the RAE news. Not going to give my supervisor or HR the satisfaction of walking me to the door!

Verifying PMP rankings in case someone had an incorrect ranking history, as well as allowing time to process/prepare required termination paperwork.

Why did they tell us we were 'in scope' on Thursday but have to wait to be notified we were really gone 6 days later? This waiting game sucks.

No it's not a way to pick and choose. That implies a thought process. This is an arbitrary no-thought-required way to cut a certain percent of the workforce. If thought were applied, no one would cut someone with a 3 year history of 2-, 2+, 2+ over a 2, 2, 2...but the RAE will.

Also, there is no uncertainty in the RAE. If you are in scope you are gone.

Dealing with all the uncertainty of the RAE makes me wish I was subject to the ROM. At least that way if I was left standing after applying to 3 jobs then I could accept that. Instead, I will probably get let go for getting s 2- on my 2nd pmp because of less than 4 months of not excelling in a new more difficult area that they moved me to. All is well now and has been but the damage was already done. If I am underperforming then so is 2/3 of my department. Unfortunately, this is just a way to pick and choose who they want to get rid of.

HR told in-scope employee that the day of their notice this week is also their last day at the job. If you're ranking was unjustified please start talking to a lawyer.

Your HRBP told you that because they are reading from a script. They will have car service or a cab take you home.

What are they going to do if you come in for two weeks and spend the entire time writing your resume and taking naps in your office chair? Lay you off.......done

See you at the fitness center! And you will obviously be upset by the news and have signals of depression. 5 sick days needed.

I expected to be out of here tomorrow by 9:30 after my notice but when I asked my MCBU HR Business Partner he told me ride my vanpool as usual tomorrow. WHAT?? I WANT OUT!

Someone else told me you could get notified but have to work for 2 more weeks. I dumped all my email, cleared out my desk, the stuff I have to work on are month lone projects that I thought would get cancelled or reassigned. 2 more weeks???

Anyone else heard similar or different?
