Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

This is a very small layoff compared to the October ROM.

Just so everyone is aware it looks as if this layoff will be at 3%. When the new org chart is filled and the other are left standing you will be looking at 25%. I just want folks to understand this a not the reorg layoffs. Every BU is having these performance layoffs today and they are miniscule to the ROM reorg.

This is my 3rd ROM and I don't recall there being RAEs preceding the other two. Is this an upstream thing?

Poster below got it right. Today was for performance nothing about ROM, RAE etc. AMBU and CBU already went through a ROM. 25% whack. There will be a second round this fall for CBU and AMBU most likely closing the AMBU BU with an NOJV deal and cutting an additional 25% at CBU and planning an NOJV there for the Duvernay shale in Fox Creek. Every BU and in Houston will soon get new revised org charts that have a reduction in force. Most of the ROM will be announced in and around October. Around 25% is the average reduction some as high as 50% like LABU. You will know when it hits as you will be given org charts with a few sentence job description for each box. Your job may not be there if it is not you can apply for three jobs. If your job is there you can apply for your position and two other jobs. As of last week you had to apply for you own position if posted.....not saying you will get it. Todays layoff was an HR run exercise for anyone with a 2- or lower in the last three years. This had absolutely nothing to do with the ROM.

Each BU, OPCO, Service Group in Upstream will be reducing headcount. Each BU has it's own name for what is happening, along with slightly different timelines and 'rules'. Some BUs have aready completed their exercise (some are on their second try). This is not a one day exercise folks.

The project alpha ROM has already started. There is no separate CNAEP wide ROM...that is what you are making it sound like. GOM will have some type of thing, probably a ROM since that is the only way Chevron knows how go about it. But I don't know what specific ROM you are talking about that is starting in October. Could be because I'm not that far up on the totem poll though. Please enlighten us!

What percent for each BU? 25% for all or each BU? What departments will be downsized the most?
