I'm a mid-career Chevron new hire and I'm still hoping to retire from Chevron. But I started with another big company that ultimately went down and had to find my own way for a few years. It's not the end of the world. I learned a lot and had some fun working with small private companies. If I have to, I'll go back to that until I'm ready to hang it up for good. Honestly, I've enjoyed my time with Chevron, but there are other games in town.

This site belongs to employees of Chevron and we can write whatever we want here. There is no rule forbidding us from expanding topics beyond layoffs, and since we have no other forum we will use this to exchange ideas and experiences (in addition to talking about layoffs)
sharing your story is not the topic of this site.
I'm also curious to know why he/she left those small private firms that were so much fun too.
That is so mean!!! Everyone has a life story. So, what is yours?? Kids on drugs, can't pay your bills, wife cheating? You should'nt be on public media!!
So if the small companies were fun, why did you leave them?
