I am sooooo glad this company got rid of me 6 years ago. I would not work for them again for double salary. But thanks for the 60 weeks severance and the perfect time for a lump sum on the Pension. I actually found a better job 8 weeks later, so basically was getting double pay for a year. Thank You so much COP!!! COP has No respect for geoscientists. My current employer does....much happier here. Thanks again!!!

We felt like that in April too. I don't want to downplay getting laid off because it sucks but if you can see any bright side, at least the uncertainty is over regarding that. We are still wondering what the hell is going on and if we are going to be canned. I have nothing but rumor but someone mentioned they are changing the severance to screw us over just a bit more.

So now you know what some of us felt in April. Not good is it. We didn't think so either. Welcome to the club. Hope you have time to say goodbye to your coworkers before the escorted walk out the door..

Whatever happens it is beyond our control. In times like these the best we can do is focus on those things that we can control. It's difficult not to be worried given the speculation and rumours that we read on forums such as these. And for the most part it is just that; rumours and speculation. If the real number was known it would be quoted with accuracy and confidence, which BU's will be most affected............ You won't read about that on this forum because they don't know the answer. Instead people rather start rumours based on he said she said. It is difficult not to worry but it is not going to change anything. I wish everyone the best of luck.

30% reduction in compensation expense can mean 10 to 15% highly paid employees.

People, pulling numbers out of the air, or the so and so said, are rumours. Only the brass know what is going to happen and they are not talking.
