Massive October ROM

It looks like things have not panned out to be as bad as we expected them today. Now, the next question is what will happen in October and is that October ROM going to be so big that we'll forget about what happened today. I've seen many posts on this website indicating that October will be much bigger - what are your thoughts about that?

Yes but people can apply for 4 positions. To make it simple, if you had 4 positions, 4 applicants and each applicant couple apply to 4 positions you'd have 4 applicants per position.

I have been told in a meeting by a higher up that the current ROM has been designed to permit 4-5 applicants per position. Also in the same meeting the HR business partner mentioned a rough number of almost 4000 open positions available for the ongoing and upcoming 3 ROM rounds. Do the math.

1500 is the stated number for Project Alpha, less some number that will be reassigned. Company wide, the figures could be higher, I guess, or For some BUs it may be higher. BUs are not in scope for PA

So it has been decided that the cuts are increasing for 1500 to 25%? Can someone address this because 1500 is A LOT less than 25%.

1 in 4? So the number increased from the 1500 employees previously announced?

This is where the percentages come in.....we are loosing 30% in my department. No one today. Yes we will loose 1 in 4 employees in the US in October.

If product prices do not improve, Chevron will make good on its statement: people are our most valuable assets, and have more significant layoffs. Worked for Chevron for 20 years and went through at least 7 layoff periods. Good people let go as this asset is expendable relative to rate on return for stockholders and management bonuses. Unfortunately. If history is a guide, bad things are on the horizon.
