If you do not have any authentic information it's best not to comment you are not doing any favors to yourself or your colleagues by spreading rumors.

If you look at the rumors back in March and the reality of the cuts, you can see how wrong all the rumors were. Don't get caught up in all the B.S. There is quite a bit of information out there if you go to the COST page on website.
How do you know? Is that across the board?
50% layoffs Start 2nd week sept
Cryptic....
A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again. How many millions of dollars of resources are be wasted each week on the layoff unknowns.
Hahahahaha That is great! Made my day #135704
Please do not spread rumors as we are desperately trying to keep all information to a minimum and you keep getting the actual plans out there through rumors before we are ready. Also, we want collaboration between teams but not when it involves spreading information about the layoff plans as those are a giant secret.
All managers and supervisors may be on the chopping block as they are clearly hearing nothing at this point. If you have 30% layoffs then you need 30% fewer managers and supervisors? Guess they are all in the same risk as the technical staff.
Mmmmm sounds like some management and supervisors are on the chopping block if they are in the dark.
In January, our General Manager, Projects, called us to a room and said there would be no layoffs. That day, Ryan sent an email saying there would be layoffs. Two months later, half of the Canadian Capital Projects team was laid off.
Trust no one.
No corporate strategy for WTI below $60 or $50 or $40. No corporate strategy. No corporate strategy, no communication.
I don't start rumors...I just spread them....
At other companies when they downsize they actually talk to the employees in advance and tell them what to expect and when things are coming. Sometimes they even have a schedule and timeline. At Conoco, they say nothing until right before it happens and keep everyone wondering for months. Rumors are all people have. There is no communications plan as far as we can see.
Is it september or november that people get notified? is it in houston or international? When will the new organization heads be identified and put in place?
All a big secret. Either there is no plan and this is another poorly organized fiasco, or there is a plan and it has been decided that it is best to keep all but about 20 people completely in the dark. Even my department head seems to not be hearing anything about what is happening and he is obviously a very high graded person.
