Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

107 billion or 109 billion ?

Im not shore what's market cap ? I thought (# shares) x (price of a share) = market cap.

Well, on the market cap for QC, it was 109 billion, then the stock price went down, and

the market cap said 107 billion. That makes sense. The price decreased.

HOWEVER, now somehow the market cap is again $109.15 BILLION magically. So,

how is this possible ? Can only be that more shares are printed and somehow a dumBass

bought those shares.... looks like that dubmass is QC who bought back those shares on

borrowed money using 10 BILLION debt.

guys guys guys... ;) What kind of financial engineering spooky sh&* is this ....

I just pulled 2 billion out of my azz

Assuming the price is guaranteed to go up due to a buyback is your first mistake. Maybe it just went down less.

yo home slices, i understand what bloomburg says market cap is now, 106 BILLION yea i graduated from the center for children who read good, dont worry. ALLZ i'm saying is that we know QC is buying back stock shares so that reduces number of shares on market and that should raise price of the shares remaining - but that's not exactly happening very well is it ? - and as the New York Times article posted recently, they might be printing new shares while buying shares back as they've done in the past

naww dude cowabunga, I distinctly saw the Google market cap ticker go to 107 BILLION (maybe as you say, even dipped to 106.49 BILLION) but look for yo'self, that the Google market cap ticker is now 109.15 BILLION. I think they're trying to keep it above 100 BILLION, will look really bad if it drops under that mark. I've noticed this MULTIPLE times since they mentioned stock buybacks, so I got curious. Maybe someone with financial fanatical skills could look at the cooked books or records or analyze the data available on these stock tickers .
