Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

Praise UOP

UOP is a great organization. Changes are often required. Those who are laid off leave with dignity and peacefully.

Employees that were laid do not leave with dignity and respect but a bad taste in their mouths from putting in years of hard work, sweat and sacrifice into the company. They don't have a choice when they are laid off and have been role models for the company by working hard and earning the salaries they received. When you let go of well trained employees and hire a new for half the price you waste time and money and may need to hire 2 or 3 to replace the ones that have been so dedicated. This is very sad times for UOP and it keeps getting worse every year. Good Luck!

Our division got hit hard, very sad but becoming a common thing at UOPX. As tuition continues to rise & students stop enrolling, the school will continue to plummet. Stop paying the head honchos so much and perhaps us small folks could keep our jobs. Sinking ship, white flags waiving! God bless all this affected.

All I saw were people crying and devastated at hardy and Elliot. My manager didn't even have the decent u to look up as half her team was fired.

@News, this will likely only make the Phoenix business news. People get arrested every minute. If you have a good video, then it could be different.

Oh my God, I hope no one is seriously hurt. I went to university of phx last year, classes were fine, what is people's problem? Sometime jobs lay off, companies go out of business, hope the cops keep it together, get those people out of there! Glad I don't work there

Yep, that was the Drive principle. Uncover their pain and push the pain in enrollment and retention. Used car salesmen were hired by UOP and pushed this tactic onto EAs.

This is going to be all over the news! This company is done, so you guys might as well find another job.....plus someone had a gun in their bag, who knows what could have happened today of cops were not here.

@Anonymous111433, I thought one of UoPX's famous strategies was to make potential students feel guilty and fearful? That's what the lawsuit by Nolan and Aldrich states...................https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/apollo-group-sinking-ship-dahn-shaulis

Nice try, but no. This is a company that does nothing when top performers resign and doesn't value employees in general. While we could argue that people should leave when they're unhappy, they shouldn't have to constantly worry about whether or not they're going to have a job tomorrow. It's not healthy to keep employees in a perpetual state of fear by lacking transparency. It's sad when most people use this resource to find out information.
