Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

2 week severance package

Hey I was laid off a while ago. Let me let you know the dirt you ill be going through those who got laid off today. My final paycheck was almost all taken. If you used your vacation time they deduct that from your final check. I had 7 days I worked and only got $31.02 for it after the vacation was taken out. If you get t he two week severance package they tax the shit out of you on it so you will only get 2/3 of it regardless your take deductions. So if you were to get $1,800 you will only get about about $1,100. Word of advise fill out your unemployment today. If not it will take a great amount of time to be processed and for you to receive any money. Best of luck to all you that got laid off but look at it this way you are free from that place and feel sorry for all the suckers left to deal with the drama and extra crap going on now.

Just paying into any flex plan DOES NOT entitle you to use it! Why do you buy insurance? IN CASE you need it...that's what a flex plan is: INSURANCE IN CASE SOMETHING HAPPENS. You are not ENTITLED to get this money back! Sick time: this is IF YOU ARE SICK, NOT a benefit. You are definitely not owed these. Also, vacation time...that's at the employers discretion. Think how much they'd have to pay out if they paid all of you that vacation. You're at the mercy of the company firing you, get on board, be an American! You pay taxes to enforce these laws and regulations.

Vacation and flex are fronted. Exactly. Both end at break in service. If you did not use your flex the only claims you can make are claims for valid medical and RX services up to date of term. So if you elected to put 1000 into flex, UOP deposits it on Jan 1. You pay into the fund all year each pay period. So, your contribution at this point is Jan through yesterday. If you have no receipts to submit, you will lose what is remaining of what you paid in. The diff between your deposits and the UOP funding is theirs anyway. Is you used all of the funds in the Flex account, that they cannot pull out if your paycheck. Vaca is fronted, that they will deduct if you have use more than earned.

That is not a Black mark against UOP. That is how Vaca and flex work in any company.

Your flex card is funded in January for the amount you Elle t. At the point your employment is terminated, so is the card. You can submit for claims up to your term date. But your only loss is the pay, nets you have mad into flex from Jan to current. The other portion was not actually yours.

You are stupid and need to learn grammar. UPX doesn't tax you, idiot. Vacation is fronted to you. If you don't work the entire year, and take all your vac they get it back. No wonder you were fired.
