Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Annual Raise?

August seems like the time of the year they give out raises (if they give them out).

Anyone know of any salary adjustments coming this year?

The Polish office got raised in April by introducing the "art of programming". Now all of us we are artists and pay less taxes thanks to creating new stuff.... No raises, but less tax. Still better than nothing....

Sabre does whatever they can to give you very little raise if anything at all. All of the below comments are true. Sabre's rating is decreasing in Glass door and there's a reason for it. Contrary to the recent article in a southlake publication portraying sabre as a utopia, it's a horrific place to work. They need to make major changes starting with getting rid of Klein and Kerr and cleaning up the immoral and unprofessional slugs that make up the HR department. Bring back Sam!!!

112551 2% can be a valid percentage in the tool. We're given a budget of money, say $7000 to split among my 4 employees. Depending on how close someone is to the market value for their job, I can bump up the lower paid employees and give little to the higher paid if they are at or above market. One of my girls is from TVLY and makes squat compared to the others yet is a bright and great employee. I feel the need to get her closer to market but alas that means less to other great employees. It's not good but what really sucks ass is when upper mgnt reviews it and has HR come over to me to have it changed to something even more unfair to everyone just because some stupid SVP wants to pad his own compensation plan or give to his faves. Every employee can ask their mgr for the market level info for their position. If they say they cant, thats total BS and you should ask your HR rep for the info. If you're at 100% of market, don't expect more than the 2 or 3%. If you are at 60% market, you better damn well get a 6 to 10% raise is you are rated successful or higher because you deserve it.

112753- I have had to lower ratings too in the DPM process. Also, it needs to be mentioned that if someone in your group gets a promotion, it LOWERS the merit increase allocation for the whole team. That single promotion could rob every other report of their raise.

Very true. I've rated employees as Highly or Outstanding (because they were) only to be told to lower them down to Successful because we can't have too many high-rated employees in the unit. If affects how much I'm allocated for VCP and have even had that reduced after I submitted it. Don't know why we even have to do DPMs or VCP since upper mgmt changes everything. I can't hire US employees anymore either. It's a shame this company still feels like US employees are just an expense rather than assets to the success of the company.

Yeah, you'll get your 2% only if you're one of the favorites. If not then you'll get squat. Upper mgmt rejoices throughout the year about how well they're doing, then as the year wears on the message gets gloomier until they announce little or no raises. When are you people going to realize that management has to save money so they can line their own pockets.
