Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

Todd Nelson, EDMC and UoPX Crook in Charge

Take a close look at page 30 of this document. It's written by Todd S. Nelson when he was the CEO of EDMC in 2011. How is this man not in prison? His story should be in American Greed, except he didn't get caught........................http://www.careercollegecentral.com/pdf/May-2011-CCC.pdf

I've been trying for years to bring this guy and his criminal activities to the attention of news organizations, but no one will pick up on the fact that he's ruined thousands of lives while lining his own pockets with money stolen from those he's lied to and stolen from for his entire career. I don't get it! He's currently CEO of Career Education. Corporation. How is it possible that people like this continue to operate without any punishment...they just keep getting richer!! It's still not too late to expose him --he's still in the education business, even tho he should be in jail. Surely there's a way!!

@Anonymous113240, the link with Todd S. Nelson's meaningless BS still works, but you need to have computer software that can read PDF's. The article is four years old, which may be a long time ago to you but not to others.

@Anonymous112986, Todd S. Nelson was a crook before he got to EDMC. He screwed up University of Phoenix before that and was fortunate that he had Goldman Sachs in his corner at EDMC............................ http://www.republicreport.org/2012/edmc-lobbyists-goldman-sachs-ruined-for-profit-education/..............................http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/14/goldman-sachs-for-profit-college_n_997409.html

Thanks for typing that in CK. I was at an Ai at the time that was written and I can tell you that NONE of that is true. I remember the dashboard he mentioned. It was rolled out on a conference call then never discussed again. In terms of providing a good job seeking experience; the campus I worked for never did well with that. Also around that time ALL of our academic advisors were laid off. Students were extremely dissatisfied.

@Anonymous112952, (Capitalizing is mine). "For more than 40 years, EDMC has delivered education

that builds careers to over 250,000 alumni across the

country. Graduates of Argosy University, The Art Institutes, Brown

Mackie College, South University and Western State University

College of Law include Pulitzer Prize winners, top-level corporate

executives, high-ranking public officials, master chefs, and

successful professionals in a variety of fields, including pharmacy,

psychology, education, law and the creative arts, to name a few.

STUDENT SUCCESS, particularly the success of students who otherwise

may have gone unserved by traditional models of higher education,

REMAINA A HALLMARK AND CORE VALUE OF OUR ORGANIZATION, in addition to

the values of INTEGRITY, INNOVATION and EXCELLANCE. PRIORITY ONE WILL COPNTINUE TO BE TO PROVIDE EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE in all that we do to make a positive impact on our students’

ability to succeed. Our key area of focus is ensuring the delivery of

a convenient and flexible education model tailored to the unique

academic needs of today’s non-traditional student population. We

know that our ability to provide improved access affords greater levels

of STUDENT SATISFACTION AND SUCCESS over the long term. Continuous

improvement in the areas of ACADEMIC SUPPORT AND TUTORING SERVICES,

financial aid counseling, alumni relations, and career services tops

our list when it comes to making sure students can tap the resources

they need to move them forward in their pursuit of an education and

a career.

For example, we’ve implemented an intensive academic/personal

coaching model within our online division to lend increased individual

support, if needed. We’re employing a unique dashboard in many

of our schools that enables us to track key student indicators such

as attendance, grades and graduate employment activity. This same

dashboard can help us identify and provide early intervention for atrisk

students who may require additional measures of support in order

to succeed. Our new employer portal is innovative in its approach,

and prospective employers can not only post career opportunities,

but review student credentials and qualifications to land that perfect

new hire. We’re proud of our career services team’s commitment to

ensuring that our graduates are armed with the tools they need to

ensure the BEST JOB-SEEKING EXPERIENCE POSSIBLE as they embark on

their new careers.

In this new economic environment, it is a business imperative that

we help students succeed by engaging program advisory councils,

industry opinion leaders and experts from around the globe to advise

us on ways in which we can deliver the best curricula to our students

across the most in-demand programmatic disciplines based on

employer, workforce and market needs. Current media scrutiny has

prompted AN EVEN STRONGER RESOLVE ON THE PART OF THE ORGANIZATION TO DELIVER THE BEST STUDENT EXPERIENCE POSSIBLE

– TO DO MORE FOR STUDENTS through CONSTANT RE-ENGINEERING AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT that

responds to the needs of students who are juggling careers, family,

education and other obligations.............Todd Nelson, Chief Executive Officer at EDMC"
