Agree with the 25% figure quoted above. Of those that remain a good amount will be shipped off to ITC. Performance is interesting and all, but its your network that will get you placed. Good luck all!

As a former employee I feel for all that is impacted.

High performers, advanced degrees, tenured and those who question management practices are weeded out - at least that was my experience during accelerated downstream. 7 of my colleagues who spoke up were forced out.

The almighty council displaced me, found a new position for me in another OPCO, only to have the new manager treat me badly to the point that I resigned.

I don't have specific knowledge about Project Alpha or current decision making by the bldg A 4th floor folks but am confident that the target list is already drawn up. Management will flat out deny that you are affected or that they are eliminating the position and not the person. I volunteered to pay for my own move to Houston in order to keep my job, but management said 'no'. Keep in mind that when surveys are being conducted, it is a sign that something is wrong with the company or cut backs are soon to follow.

Good luck to all. Hang in there for as long as you can and wait for the severance package. It's usually x weeks based on service years in addition to 6 months of job hunting assistance such as resume writing.
