Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

VP Europe - Thomas Bruni Slashing jobs in Romania, Germany, UK and KAZ.

Bruni has recently decided because of his poor Q2 performance that he will be slashing 11% additional job across Europe. If history repeats itself he will reduce the field staff and save the managers. To receive his bonus at this time he will cut further than any other region showing he can be better than other Regional VPs. Directional Drilling, Wireline, TRS, LH, Completions are to be hit hard.

Youngest (30 something) and most immature VP in Weatherford's history.

"He has proven time and time again that he misses the leadership mark and has very questionable ethics." - so is a perfect fit for WFT management.

You are correct, from a fresh faced engineer to VP in 10 years only proves his lack of experience. This lack of experience only make him unpredictable and will lead the company to making the same historic mistakes. He has proven time and time again that he misses the leadership mark and has very questionable ethics.

Europe is the back door to servicing USA sanctioned countries closing this door with yet more cuts will only hit the USA and may even lose Bruni more than just his bonus.

Bruni never reached being a VP from a fresh faced junior engineer in just over 10 years without upsetting a lot of people along the way.He will sleep easy although wont be surprised if Romania and Italy don't get hit hard his connections there are strong.

Needs to be done? Swift left the region with strong financial numbers and in good shape. In 6 months Bruni has pushed out very strong people - put the Italian Mafia in control and ran the business into the ground.

If its his poor Q2 performance then why does he not just start with himself his salary should easily cover the 11%
