Discrimination...?

I know this is a lay off site but it is about down sizing right? Has any one experienced of witnessed discrimination due to disabilities, pregnancies and etc?

Certainly there has been a lot of discriminations in this course of lays off. A lady manager in north america was on top. She forgot all the basic norm by defending one of her friend who used to listen a lot of stories of her boyfriend all the times in the office. This was the only criteria in that department. It is a shame on the part of weatherford.

Yeap. Only white female in my area. Laid off. As a matter of fact all of the white females that worked the floor ( not in an office) and were not in management positions were laid off. Not that there were many of us white girls to start with. And I als know of a white female that got I'll had to take some time and then they told her they were letting her go. Called it administrative termination. Because they said she could not work anywhere else. She had been there for years. Sad.

WFT is and always will be survival of the fittest you can be a long term employee who suddenly contracts an illness or disability that has some affect on you're ability to perform 100% then management with the help of their minions will plan you're demise although have a sex change then management will go out of their way to protect you. So if you find yourself having knee problems for example then go tell you're manager dressed in a flowery dress and lipstick if you're a women just wear a low cut dress and tell you're manager how good he looks both will secure you're employment

I had alcohol and drug issues Weatherford stood by me and gave me all the help I needed unfortunately it was showing me how to exit the building as I had no f***ing idea how to open the door.

A while back an older black guy (I'm guessing in his late 50s) got back from offshore and had a scheduled day off. Management called him to work on his day off, and he said it's my day off, I've had a few beers. His manager said it's okay, it will only take a second. He walks in and they send him for alcohol/drug screening and fire him.

Probably wasn't discrimination based on race, but it was wrong to entrap the guy like that.

I was layed off from Houma recently. I suspect being black and gay was the reason, but very difficult in proving that was the reason.

Yes I think I have seen discrimation against hiring young thin admins- working in a mans world. They seem to hire eye candy. But there is no way for me to officially say so they would never admit it, but the prettier and flirtery they are promotions come quicker than those who don't.
