Saw on Intel's board - up to 50% US workforce to be cut. Likely exaggerated, yet very indicative.

for intel : altera people are also coming in...so things will not be very nice with multiple overlaps...
for QUALCOMM: CSR people are coming in soon....and that will make things more complex for QUALCOMM as well....
for Broadcom : it will be avago laying off people as avago did to Emulex...... so a lot Asic designers will be in the market....
They are long overdue - I worked over there in early 2000s, they were super bloated even then - nothing can be done, takes forever to make a decision, layers upon layers of management, jumped on H1B wagon very early and still riding it, poisonous review process, I could go on and on. If you think Q is screwed up, you should kind of triple it and you'd understand where Intel is. Took me about three years to jettison but I ran and never looked back.
Oh, and we are much better. They at least do not have Jana breathing down their neck.
